sdb file problemserror when opening: Windows cannot open the local policy database. An unknown error occured when attempting to open the database. This system is a DMZ webserver, so there was no tape backup of the Windows\security\ directory from which to try and restore the security database. However all the other command line tools for repairing and/or recreating the database failed to resolve this. I copied the database file from another 2K Server over to the afflicted machine with no success. I deleted the edb and res files with no success. There are no 1202 errors generated with this condition. Is there another way to restore the security database; or is there a roadmap that connects Local Security Policies to registry keys, so that the system could be secured without having the LSP snap-in? This is a Windows 2000 Server, SP4 with IIS ver5 installed. -- Jonathan Forbes
