W2K ESENT Event ID 454, error -515 every 5 minutesapplication log every 5 minutes (for the past 3 weeks). Other than the log messages, there is no other apparent impact of the problem. The first message is an error message: Type: Error Source: ESENT Category: Logging/Recovery Event ID: 454 Description: services (300) Database recovery/restore failed with unexpected error -515. This is followed by a warning message: Type: Warning Source: SceCli Category: None Event ID: 1202 Description: Security policies are propagated with warning. 0x4b8 : An extended error has occurred. For best results in resolving this event, log on with a non-administrative account and search http://support.microsoft.com for "Troubleshooting Event 1202s". The apparent closest KB article that I can find is 278316. However, the error sequence in that case consists of 4 messages, and the error code for the 454 event in that case is -530 rather than -515. Are my symptoms close enough to KB 278316 to consider it a match? Thanks for your advice, Ken I can't say that I had to ever troubleshoot that myself but usually you can
find helpful information at http://www.eventid.net such as below for Event ID 454. http://www.eventid.net/display.asp?eventid=454&eventno=839&source=ESENT&phase=1 The link below may also be helpful as you may have a corrupt secedit.sdb on that server and can use esentutl to check for that.
