SSL Performance problems when migrating to IIS6

Hi,

We have recently migrated one of our client's web applications to a new
server moving from Windows2000 to Windows2003Server (using IIS6).
We have managed to iron out most of the teething problems but one thing we
are really struggling with is that the SSL certificate seems to be causing
performance issues for certain people. Not all users are affected and it
doesn't seem to have a pattern. For example, I have the performance issue
whereby a colleague on the same network has no issues at all.
I have found the SSL Diagnostic tool from MSoft and downloaded. However, the
server is dual processor and on install, the tool states that it cannot work
with this processor... "This installation package is not supported by this
processor type. Contact your product vendor."

I therefore have no means of trying to figure out what the problem may be
and the client is now getting somewhat restless...

Your install problem seems to be that you are installing a MSI for the wrong
processor architecture.

If desperate, you can always use NUMCPU in Boot.ini to make the machine
uniproc if you think that is the issue.
