Hi all,

I have locked our 2003 SP1 server down using the security configuration
wizard and group policy, now for the fun to begin:  ever since I have
completed this process, we can no longer write to the guest books.  The
content is there, but when we type a few words, then click on "Submit
Comments" I receive the "FrontPage Error.
User: please report details to this site's webmaster.
Webmaster: please see the server's application event log for more details."

I believe this is primarily an IIS security misconfiguration on my part, but
I am cautious when changing the iIS security settings because I do not want
to make them weak.  Does anyone know what the minimum secutiys settings
should be to allow ananymous users to sign a guest book?

Thanks!

Well, if I were you I'd first check the event log as the error message
suggests, then formulate a plan based on the error message itself.

that's step 1. feel free to post the error message here and we'll see what
we can do.

Hi Jason,

I have checked the event log (application log in the error message) and
there are no messages, and there have not been any messages related to
Frontpage at any time I have received the error message, and this is part of
the reason I am having such a good time with this one.  Thanks for the
suggustion, but any other ideas?

OK, I will buy lunch and a Starbucks Coffee to the individual that can answer
my question:  What permissions do I need to allow an ananymous guest to write
an entry to a guest log?  I am suing 2003 SP1 and Frontpage 003 SP1.
