IIS 5.0 - Create Server Certificate WizardIIS 5.0 ->Default Web site->mywebsite->Right click->Properties->Directory
Security In this window, 'Server Certificate' button is disabled. I cannot procedd further. These are some of the things I have tried - I have the admin access to my machine I have tried to remove access for annonymous I re-registerd xenroll.dll Nothing has helped. By the way, the operating system is Windows 2000 professional. Thanks -- sgm I don't recall for certain, but I think the version of IIS that comes with
2k Pro is restricted and can't do SSL, among other restrictions. I think you'd need a proper server edition to do this, or upgrade to XP (which I can confirm DOES handle certs) -- Show quoteHide quoteJason Brown Microsoft GTSC, IIS This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. files gives the directions that I specified earlier to create server certificates. If IIS 5.0 did not support SSL, I don't understand why the directions were included in the help files. I have searched on all search engines and all get from there is to reregister xenroll.dl. The tech support chat line also gave the same suggestion in the email message. I would appreciate if any body can through more light on this issue. The issue is resolved. While I was changing things on IIS -> Default Web site - >properties to try out, if any thing will change the scenario, I lost access to the server. It took a little while to figure out that the Home Directory execute permission was set to "None". Any way, after I changed the access to "script and executables" the button became available. I don't know what was my previous setting (may be it was "scripts only"??) and I have no clue what did it. No other setting has changed on the properites except the one mentioned above.
