Problem with IUSR account

Hello,

The IUSR_xxx account is locked (as user enters wrong password too
often which can't be for this acount) from time to time so our website
is no more accessible. After unlocking the account everything works
again correctly. But how can I avoid the the account locks and why
does this happen?

Thanks in advance!

That shouldn't happen.  Why is a user using this account?

Thnaks for answer, as far as I can tell nobody uses this account.

I check the event log, before the messsage appears that IIS can't
logon with this user becasue account is locked, there are some entries
from IIS that username or password are not correct. So I think IIS
uses here wrong passwort himelf, but why?

Is it possible to find out if some one else uses the account?

Make sure IUSR has the same password in User Manager as it does in the IIS
MMC at the root level of the web site.

How do you do this? Is there a way to resync the iusr account passwords? Or
do I have to create a new password of my own?

it would be easiest to just create a new password.
