Hello All,

We have multiple web hosting customers on IIS 6, Windows Server 2003
Enterprise edition. We would like to control bandwidth per web site on a
monthly basis. For instance "www.x.com" should be allowed only 20 MB
total bandwidth in a month. Please do not confuse with disk quota, we
are looking for bandwidth quota on IIS.

Is it possible to restrict that via IIS default control properties or
Microsoft Add-Ins/Reosurce Kits or via third party software?

I also wonder to control bandwidth via active network equipment in
front of IIS servers, e.g Cisco Content Management Switch.

I think, there is one setting in Performance tab about bandwidth but it
is not providing what we are looking for.

Could someone please help us about that?

I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks in advance...

I don't believe there's a native way that comes with the OS... You could
probably script something for free that runs on the server and then shuts
down that server instance when a certain limit has been reached, but that
might be a slightly kludgy solution.

I'm sure some solution will do this... firewalls from www.netscreen.com,
starting around $600 US I believe, will do some sort of bandwidth shaping,
and I would imagine there should be a variety of routers including some from
Cisco that should support some sort of bandwidth shaping.
