NTFS permission issueOn my windows 2000 server, security properties on a file or folder displays
the SID and not the object name. Server's DNS address is pointing only to the AD dns server and I've flushed the dns (ipconfig /flushdns). I can add permissions to an object by choosing it from list of Users, Computers, or Groups from the AD. But when I check the security permissions after the add, it doesn't retain the object's name; just the SID. Any ideas or solutions? thanks!! Verify that your DC holding the PDC Emulator fsmo role is working fine and is
accessible. Use NSLOOKUP and check your DNS (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/200525).
