Dont know passwordI brought a used (old) Computer for my 8 yr old from a thrift dtore and when

You can try the obvious (password, drowssap, admin, blank) for the Administrator account. 2. You can copy off the SAM database (if standalone/depends on the version) and try to crack it 3. The easiest solution is to get another copy of your operating system and do a clean installation. This will also get rid of all the garbage on the system as well. Good luck. Todd Did the unit come with a Recovery CD? You can use this to reinstall the OS.
Check with the store you got this unit from if they have one for your computer. There are, in fact, a number of password recovery tools out there; do a quick goog... err Windows Live Search.
