automatic updates disabled "error 1058"I have a security warning that my automatic update is tirned off when i click
on this is icon it opens window security center i try to turn it on but am tolld it can do do it from there and to go to control panel. but in atomatic updates through control panel it shows atomatic updates as on. Try to update and am told to run services.msc. try to enable updates and get "cannot start the automaic updates on local computor ERROR 1058 the servces cannot start either because it is disabled or because it has no enable devise accouiated with it. i run mcafee which said i had a voudo voudo trojian in system 32 did as told to remove but still unabl to start updates. im useing a dell dimension 3100 running media center with service pack 3 -- cd Try removing"unusual" auto-starting entries. caused by spyware. The spyware issue is a whole other issue altogether, but I get the same error message and cannot enable automatic updates. Hoping someone will come along on this post and offer us a solution! HELP! I think this is the Windows Security system problem
also, because Windows was attacted by spyware or virus then caused this happened. I hope have update from Windows soon and can be downloaded by manual. error 1058 problem (I'm running Windows XP) for 3 solid days now. I took your suggestion re using "Malwarebytes" and I can't believe the results. Thank you for saving my sanity!
