access 2007 add-in permissionsI am trying to install an accda add-in file. I get an error that i do not
have sufficient permissions to install. The security tab of the file says I have complete control. How do I get sufficient permissions? This is on an individual PC and not a network. Did you log in as an administrator on the pc? Is the file in a trusted
folder and going to be installed in a trusted folder, or is it digitally signed with a trusted digital signature? Chris Microsoft MVP Stanley L. wrote: >I am trying to install an accda add-in file. me. Re your questions: Did you log in as an administrator on the pc? Answer = Yes. This was verified by clicking the start icon and then the upper right icon .... The result showed "Stanley....Administrator". Also, I am the only defined user so admin rights are automatically assigned to an 'only User'. Is the file in a trusted folder and going to be installed in a trusted folder? Answer = The file was put into the office C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\ADDINS subfolder and this was made a trusted folder as verified via by Access Options/Trust Center Settings/Trusted Locations. Also, here the Add-ins has unchecked "Require Application Add-ins to be signed by Trusted Publisher". Is it digitally signed with a trusted digital signature? Answer = Review of the file's properties doesn't show any indication of it being signed so I deduce it isn't signed. After verifying all of the above I still am told I do not have sufficient security permissions to install add-ins. It was interesting to note that when trying to install an addin Access initially points to a hidden folder "Stanley/appdata/roaming/microsoft/addins" but it is impossible to add this folder to 'Trusted Folders' because it is hidden. I don't think this is the problem but I really don't know. If it will help the addin comes from http://www.aadconsulting.com/freeaddins.html and is entitled 'Access 2007 UsysRibbons Reviewer Add-In'. Thanks again.
