Removed the Admin Role from permissions - Now I am stuck - PleaseI am in the processing of building a database and I needed to assign
permissions. I have never used permissions before, so I created a backup in case something went wrong. Unfortunately, something has gone wrong. I have removed the Admin permission from from my user permissions. Now I cannot make any changes to get the Admin permission back. To make matters worse the permissions have some how been applied to my back up copy. I have about 60 hours worth of work in a database that I can no longer access because my role no longer contains the admin permission. Is there anything that I can do to wipe the slate clean or at least add the Admin role back to myself? Thank you in advance for your help. First, use the workgroup administrator to rejoin the default workgroup,
system.mdw, so you can open the backup db copy again. Then read and study the security faq before any more attempts at security. http://support.microsoft.com/?id=207793 Logging in as the db owner allows you to give admin permissions back, but read the faq before that anyway so you know what's going on.
