I've locked myself out of design mode

In an effort to solve a different problem, I created a skinned-down version
of an existing database that will just run a couple of queries & reports from
the data on the first database using linked tables and queries.

While plodding though the process of making this work, I was experimenting
with different Access Options. I currently have a database that allow me to
run the queries or reports by double-clicking on them, but that is all.

My Ribbon has only the "Home" tab on it, and clicking the windows
symbol/circle gives you "Close Database"--nothing else. I CAN get to the VBA
code by pressing Alt-F11, but I can't get to design mode on any object.

This is not a big issue--I created another database and imported the objects
into it so I'm flying, oops--plodding again, but I am curious as to what the
heck I might have done OR how to reset whatever restrictions I have set.

can PERMANENTLY lock yourself out of your database, and then you
better have a backup!
I'm not going to speculate on what all you did, probably some database
option, but you may be able to get back in by holding down the shift
key while opening the database.

That worked--Thank you.

I really AM smart enough to know that--but it never hurts to be reminded. I
have several instances of the database out there--trying a million different
things to solve a problem. I was simply surprised to see this one locked up
so tight. My next goal is to lock it up again, so I know what does it. :)
