User and group accounts

I was working with the User & Group Accounts, trying to figure out how to
secure my database.  Now I've done something to where I can no longer add,
delete, anything within this window.  I am not able to access the security
wizard either.  Says I need to be an administrator.

What do I do?

It's difficult to help without knowing what you did.

Did you start by creating a new mdw, or did you just start adding users/groups?  Did you at some point have to login to this database?

Did you create a backup of your mdb before you started, that you can revert to?

Well I went into a database that I created to create new users and work with
permissions.  The last things that I remember doing before being unable to
access this info, was changing the owner of the forms, tables, etc.

I do not have to login to this database.  I did save a backup copy, however,
I am not able to add users in any other database now.  It has grayed out all
options under "User & Group Accounts".  I am still able to access everything
under "User & Group Permissions."

Does that help???

A little.  It sounds like you didn't start by creating a new workgroup file.  If that's the case then you modified the system.mdw that ships with Access.

Access uses this mdw for all sessions, silently logging you in as 'Admin' (Access always uses security).

I suggest that you restore the backup.  Then use Start, Search and locate all mdw files on your computer (be sure to search in hidden/system folders).  Rename every one that you find.

Now open Access (it'll create a new system.mdw for you), and open your restored mdb file.

If you want to implement security, you need to study up on it first, and practice on a copy of your mdb.

Although the whitepaper is old, it contains information to help you understand security.

I've also outlined the detailed steps at
