HKEY_USERS, what is it for?June 5, 2005
Hi Sathyaish! The HKEY_Users node is for settings that are specific to each user. Each user has a specific instance of this node that is loaded when a user logs in. Each user can access his/her own node and therefore can change the settings in HKEY_Users. The HKEY_Local_Machine node is for settings that are specific to each computer and do not change when a different user logs in. Only Administrators can change the values under HKEY_Local_Machine. Hope this helps and have a great day! :-) Feel free to ask more questions! -- Show quoteHide quoteJoseph Bittman Beta ID# 678424 Microsoft Certified Application Developer Web Site: http://71.35.110.42 Dynamic IP -- Check here for future changes "Sathyaish" <Sathya***@Yahoo.com> wrote in message news:1117119161.314995.301840@g14g2000cwa.googlegroups.com... > What is the Windows registry hive HKEY_USERS for? >
