Rufus
On a new computer with Windows XP, Microsoft Office, and all updates
installed, my Windows Firewall gives off a false, I hope, warning every day
5-6 times.  It says the Windows Firewall is off and I may be unprotected, but
by the time I open the Security Center, Windows Firewall clicks back from off
to on.

I can't tell if it really is ever off or just a false signal?  How do I test
this or correct the on again, off again flaw?

There has been a virus which was turning off the firewall even if setting it
on by your self. It happens to me too.
Check for virus scann
