Hi Joan.  I also fubarred my secure database.
Here is what I did, and what I have done so far.

First I moved the folder my database was in.
Then I deleted the shortcut on my desktop
Then I emptied my recycle bin (gone for good!)
Then I tried to open the database .mdw file straight from the folder it is
stored in.
*panic*
Then started fooling around with the security settings and passwords etc etc.

I arrived at a point where I was no longer even being asked for my user/pwd.
and almost started to cry.
----------------------------------------------
Then came to this post, fixed the admin with no pwd problem, and now I'm
back to being asked for my password again, but I get the error " you don't
have the neccessary permissions blah blah blah".

From your posts above, I think it's a 'workgroup' problem, i deleted my
original shortcut that the wizard made for me.  Am I screwed for good?
Can I make a short cut?

I'm frantic.

Of course not.  It sounds like you still have your secure mdb and you still
have your secure mdw.  You just deleted the shortcut.

So create a new one.  Right-Click on the desktop, New, Shortcut...
You can navigate to the location of msaccess.exe and finish the creation of
the shortcut.
Go to the desktop, right-click this shortcut and choose properties.
You'll see the 'path to msaccess.exe' in the target line.
Move to the end of that and modify it so it has the following in it.
"path to msaccess.exe" "path to secure mdb in new location" /wrkgrp "path to
secure mdw"

Hello Joan,

I did everything that BigSmile did with his database....(deleted a password,
deleted the shortcut, emptied the recycle bin    etc..)  I get the same
message about not having permissions etc....I started with deleting the
password because I didn't need a secure database, so I really don't know why
I set it up that way.  I am the creator and the only one that will use it.

I tried what you suggested below for him but it's giving me an error message:
"The command line you used to start Microsoft Office Access contains an
option that Microsoft Office Access doesn't recognize."

It looks like I typed just as you wrote it but maybe I have spaces that
shouldn't be there?????   Help.....What should I do now?????
