Newbie question!Hi,
I played around with MSAccess2000 sequrity and...well the rest you can guess! Eventually I should delete all sequrity but thats for later. For now I want to understand what is happening. I started the sequrity-wizard from within a db that resides on a network-share. After finnishing the wizard I cannot open any db from within that net-share(but in different folders) without authenticating. Ok, I can follow that. But how come all my colleagues can still open all the db's in that net-share? Are the sequrity-settings I made for my PC only? Yes, you simply went in and set a password for the Admin user in *your*
workgroup file. Your other users are using their own workgroup file. If you properly secure a database, they would not be able to open the file using their workgroup files. To properly implement security, you must follow all the steps in the process in order. I'd make at least one backup of my database and workgroup file before I played around too much.
