SecurtiyI followed the Security FAQ. I created a work group I created different
accounts with permission, I used the Secruity wizard. But when I create a shortcut to another persons computer it dosen't ask them to log in. I can't figure out what step I'm missing. Would you post the target for your shortcut?

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\MSACCESS.EXE" "C:\Documents and Settings\tatenn\Desktop\Test\CCletter.mdb" /WRKGRP "C:\Documents and Settings\tatenn\Desktop\Test\Workgroup.mdw" The target looks as if it should work. So, that leads me to think that TC is
right -- the Admin user in your Workgroup.mdw file has a blank password. In addition to that, the shortcut points to a database and workgroup file on YOUR computer's desktop. How are the other users going to be able to get to that? -- Show quoteHide quoteLynn Trapp MS Access MVP www.ltcomputerdesigns.com Access Security: www.ltcomputerdesigns.com/Security.htm Jeff Conrad's Big List: www.ltcomputerdesigns.com/JCReferences.html "Natalie Tate via AccessMonster.com" <fo***@AccessMonster.com> wrote in message news:8106b468e8b742589bebe27daf40b3e3@AccessMonster.com... > This is the target for my shortcut on my desktop. > > "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\MSACCESS.EXE" "C:\Documents > and > Settings\tatenn\Desktop\Test\CCletter.mdb" /WRKGRP "C:\Documents and > Settings\tatenn\Desktop\Test\Workgroup.mdw" > > -- > Message posted via http://www.accessmonster.com If you start a database via a shortcut using the /wrkgrp switch to
specify the workgroup file, and, the user is not presented with a username/password screen, then, the workgroup file that you specified, does not have a password on the admin user. This would strongly suggest that you have not done the securing properly. HTH, TC |
