File encryptionI encrypted some file in xp, unfortunatly I had to reinstall xp due to a
program error. Now I can no longer gain access to the files is there any way to remove the encryption? any help would be helpful. In Microsoft Access? (hence newsgroup name)

value of encrypting it, in the first place? The fundamental nature of encryption is, that you can not decrypt the data, unless you have the appropriate key(s). If think NTFS allows a "recovery agent". Google that term, maybe it will help. But no guarantees, because I might be wrong, and even if I am right, you might not have set one up. if an encrypted file is copied to a FAT32 partition in a shared folder and copied from that shared folder to another computer from the computer to receive the file encryption is striped off. *I think* Now there may be more to this but that's all I remember.
