One-Step Security Wizard wont open filetwo queries. I go to add security, it says you need to be 2003 version, so I save up. The it walks me through adding people. it creates a .snp file, and list all the user IDs associated with the groups. My ID is listed under Admins group and Users group. But now I go to open the file, and it tells me that I'm not allowed. I asked another one of the members, and same result. Is this lost forever? I tried checking the posts for security help, and was recommended to check out www.jmwild.com. The first thing she ask is to find the wrkgadm.exe. The file is not on my system. I've done two searches and eye balled the Office10 folder. what do I do for multi user setup? *Every* version of Access has user level security, not just 2003. "It says"? Where did you read that? Got a link? Newer versions of Access don't have a separate wrkgadm.exe file. It's built into Access now. Open Access. Tools > Security > Workgroup Administrator. You can open your secure db file with a shortcut that includes the name of your db file and the workgroup you want to join for the Access session. The shortcut's target is like this (all one line): "path to msaccess.exe" "path to db.mdb" /wrkgrp "path to secure.mdw" Download and study the security faq. http://support.microsoft.com/?id=207793 Chris Chris Freeman wrote: Show quoteHide quote >I created a quick and easy database for testing, only four table, a form, and >two queries. Thanks for the assistance, but the frustration got the better of me and I just deleted all the files, and I'll read more on security before trying again. I'review over the weekend, and will be in touch next week if this continues to baffle me. Talk to ya Tuesday?
