I cannot open a DB created by another user on my PC.I am running Windows XP SP3, with Office 2002. When I try to open a DB
created by another user on my PC I get the following: Microsoft Access cannot open this file. I have lloked throught the other threads here and saw the option for the 2unblock2 button when you right click, and go to properties....but I'm assuming this is only with XP SP1. I do not have this option available. Is there any way I can open this file without having to copy it to the local machine. Ideally we need to open across the LAN. Regards Neil The os blocks mdb files downloaded from the Internet or from your email if
you have Windows XP sp1 or later. If the file's on the network you probably didn't download it, so it's not blocked and you won't see the button to unblock it. "Microsoft Access cannot open this file." That's only part of the message. Without the other part of the message we have to guess from dozens of choices. My first guess is your network isn't trusted. Open Internet Explorer. Internet Options > Security > Local Intranet. Add all intranet sites and all network paths to trusted sites. If that doesn't help, please post back with the full error message. Chris NOS wrote: >I am running Windows XP SP3, with Office 2002.
