"munged" e-mail, or an obviously non-existent one with our posts (see mine). For years, the spammers, scammers, and other hackers ignored newsgroups, but when they began to harvest e-mails, they did it with enthusiasm. And in those years when they had ignored the newsgroups, I had posted with my e-mail "in the clear"... I had to make arrangements to abandon that one and get a new one when I started getting multi-megabytes of spam, viruses, worms, and other malware at that address.
