log in passwordsOur backend data is on a server which requires the users (via their
workstations) to log in with a password to access the server. Is there a way to have the workstation ask for this when the user starts their computers? the problem is that if the user is trying to access the back end (via the front end application) and they have not previously entered their passwords , then Access won't like the front end to the back end data. so the only way i can get the users to log in is to direct them to the back end data on the server (which i really don't want to do as this shows them where the data is and they can now cut/paste / steal it etc). any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. tks This is a network security issue. Contact your network admins to set it up
the right way. Can you suggest where i can get this sort of help (we're in the Toronto area). regards, Steve It's not a stupid question. Look in the phone book for local IT staffing
agencies. You should have several major national staffing companies serving Toronto. Tell them you want to hire a temp employee, a Windows networking specialist with emphasis on security, for a secure network setup. Look for Microsoft certification and *lots* of experience. We hire only MSCE certified network engineers with at least 5 years experience, and it's a world of difference in skill level over somebody with the MSCE certification and a year experience. http://www.microsoft.com/learning/mcp/mcse/default.mspx Chris fish***@hotmail.com wrote: >On Jan 17, 11:29Â am, "Chris O'C via AccessMonster.com" <u29189@uwe> >wrote: >> This is a network security issue.
