Create a form to fill in.What suggestions would anyone recommend to create an Access form and
then be able to email it to others, so that it might be filled in easily and emailled back to me. J It can't be done. Forms don't have an existence outside of a database.
You could, I suppose, mail each person the entire database, have them mail it back to you, and then import the data from each of the MDB files sent to you. -- Show quoteHide quoteDoug Steele, Microsoft Access MVP http://I.Am/DougSteele (no private e-mails, please) "Jonah" <js***@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:4577317C.CBF0F49B@hotmail.com... > What suggestions would anyone recommend to create an Access form and > then be able to email it to others, so that it might be filled in easily > and emailled back to me. > > J > Jonah,
If you're using Access 2007 you can use the new Collect Data through E-mail feature. You can have your users add or update records in a table by sending out an HTML or InfoPath form. If you use an HTML form, any user that has an e-mail program that supports HTML can fill out the form and send it back to you. If you want to use the InfoPath option all your recipients must be using Outlook 2007 and InfoPath 2007, but the forms are a whole better than HTML (less chance of data errors coming back). This link helps explains the process: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/access/HA100154271033.aspx?pid=CH100621861033 There are some limitations with this process so it's not designed for every scenario. You can't send out an Access form in 2007, but I'm hoping they might add this functionality in the next version. -- Show quoteHide quoteJeff Conrad Access Junkie - MVP http://home.bendbroadband.com/conradsystems/accessjunkie.html Access 2007 Info: http://www.AccessJunkie.com "Jonah" wrote in message: news:4577317C.CBF0F49B@hotmail.com... > What suggestions would anyone recommend to create an Access form and > then be able to email it to others, so that it might be filled in easily > and emailled back to me. Just another thought, in case you don't want to upgrade just yet. You could
build a Word form, and using bookmarks import the data from the returned document. -- Show quoteHide quoteJoan Wild Microsoft Access MVP Jeff Conrad wrote: > Jonah, > > If you're using Access 2007 you can use the new Collect Data through > E-mail feature.
