Warehouse personnel can't get the needed form - just the backgrounThe two guys in the warehouse can pull up Access and open the database but
,when they go to pull up the needed form, all they get is the background. Is this a permissions problem? If so, what do I need to address? It would only be a permissions issue if you have implemented user-level
security - have you? Are you (or anyone else) able to open the form and see the data? -- Show quoteHide quoteJoan Wild Microsoft Access MVP TechyTemp wrote: > The two guys in the warehouse can pull up Access and open the > database but ,when they go to pull up the needed form, all they get > is the background. haven't defined the workgroup security groups either" then you haven't setup security in Access at all. You need to follow the steps in the security FAQ *to the letter* http://support.microsoft.com/?id=207793 Additional reading: Security Whitepaper http://support.microsoft.com/?id=148555 Although the whitepaper is old, it contains information to help you understand security. I followed the one-step security wizard instructions and my primary user can't open up access on her computer. I designated her as full data user and as an update data user. Why is she being told that she doesn't have the proper permissions to open it? shortcut to launch the secure mdb; and it would have created a secure workgroup file. You need to make these available to all your users as well. She is likely trying to open the secure mdb via a double-click. On her computer, since she doesn't have the secure mdw, she's using the default mdw that ships with Access. That workgroup file is denying her access (and rightly so). Put the secure mdb, and the secure mdw on the network. Create a desktop shortcut on her computer. If she has Access installed in the same location as you, you can just copy your desktop shortcut to her computer (it's just a file with a lnk extension). If she doesn't have Access installed in the same location, just create a shortcut with the following as the target: "path to msaccess.exe" "path to mdb" /wrkgrp "path to secure mdw" -- Show quoteHide quoteJoan Wild Microsoft Access MVP TechyTemp wrote: > URGENT! > > I followed the one-step security wizard instructions and my primary > user can't open up access on her computer. User level security-- do not have necessary permissions
Opening a previously secured database restrict combo box selection depending on user mapped network drive and security error Tab Change Passwords how to change a name in "msysaccounts"? Programically redirecting to different mdw files An easy solution??? Folder permissions... Can't open Secured Access 2003 Database in Access 2007 How can I protect a field (column in a table) from data entry? |
