how do i unlock my documentI can't use a word document because it says that is locked, how can i

When i try to save the document in MS Word file it is saved after some time i done some work in it after that it is locked.After some time iam dunable to open the document it is saying that the file is locked.Three options are coming when i try to open the document i)Read Only ii)Notify iii)Cancel Please suggest me to to recover the Document It is very important word document.
