need help with permissionsI have a database that I have not set any security on. We have used this
database for several years with no problems. Suddenly, I'm getting the error message: "Record(s) cannot be read; no read permission on 'Peanut Combine'. (Peanut combine is the name of a query.) I am the owner and administrator of this database and have not made any changes to the permissions. Any ideas? Thx. Someone has set some security on it, it seems. Can you open the database
and go to Tools, Security, permissions? In this dialog check what the permissions are for this query for both users, and for groups. also check the ownership tab and see who the owner is. Since you claim you have not set any security, what happens if you recover one
of your recent backups to some temporary folder/file, and open it? Either someone has set some security without your knowledge, or (at a pinch) it "merely" became corrupted. (The corruption suggestion might worry me more than hackers! esp. if not caught early with backups) Chris ---------- PS (sorry I can't help myself) Most of the products I buy in the supermarket now have a warning "may contain traces of peanuts!" :-) Would that be a Combine Harvester for Peanuts? I better stop :-)) Show quoteHide quote "gustin" <gus***@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:0059369E-3B95-4F70-A81F-35C03A4CCFE3@microsoft.com... > I have a database that I have not set any security on. problem persist. I have just re-created the necessary queries and won't use the old ones I guess. Thank you for your help. P.S. Chris, you are correct, I am talking about a machine that harvests peanuts! Show quoteHide quote "gustin" wrote: > I have a database that I have not set any security on.
