Help!!! Erased all permissions, what do I do?In the process of trying to limit access to certain folder on my external hard drive, I 1) turned off simple sharing 2) selected the folders and went to security, and I think I got a message saying "Permissions will be reset" 3) Now, when I double click on the folder or try to change the permissions to allow access (I've tried both myself and the user group), I get "Access Denied" or "You do not have permission to view the current permission settings for Books, but you can make permissions changes." I'm positive that I'm logged in as an administrator, yet I still can't do anything. Any help would be highly appreciated! Cheers Tim You'll need to ask this in a newsgroup about the operating system you are
using. This group is for Access, the database software. -- Show quoteHide quoteJoan Wild Microsoft Access MVP timw***@gmail.com wrote: > Hi everybody, > > In the process of trying to limit access to certain folder on my > external hard drive, I > > 1) turned off simple sharing > 2) selected the folders and went to security, and I think I got a > message saying "Permissions will be reset" > 3) Now, when I double click on the folder or try to change the > permissions to allow access (I've tried both myself and the user > group), I get "Access Denied" or "You do not have permission to view > the current permission settings for Books, but you can make > permissions changes." > > I'm positive that I'm logged in as an administrator, yet I still can't > do anything.
