Locked Out, what did I do?My first try at Access security, I used the wizard, and setup the passwords,
etc. Now, when I try to open the DB, I get a message saying I don't have permission, and to contact the Admin (me). Where did I go wrong? It never prompts me to enter a password, and I'm not so sure about the creat/join group function. On the snapshot it gave me, I am listed under Admin. Hope I didn't trash the whole thing. Thanks for the help! Sounds like a recent version (2002 or 2003), in which case the wizard
created a desktop shortcut to launch your secure mdb - use that instead. You are likely trying to open the secure mdb via Windows Explorer, and since you are joined by default to system.mdw, you get no login and have no permissions. Everything is working as it should. -- Show quoteHide quoteJoan Wild Microsoft Access MVP bcemail wrote: > My first try at Access security, I used the wizard, and setup the > passwords, etc. Now, when I try to open the DB, I get a message > saying I don't have permission, and to contact the Admin (me). treading a bit more carefully with security now... Thanks!
