Blocking Access tables from other Office appsI need to know if there's a way to block other MS Office applications (Word,
Excel, etc) from being able to extract data from Access tables. Does anyone out there know of a way to do that? Failing that, what about encryption options? You can keep out casual users by applying User Level Security, but it
will not keep out a determined hacker. If your goal is bullet-proof security, then Access may not be sufficient. Access user security is not to be taken lightly, so read very carefully and thoroughly, practice on a COPY of your database, and don't skip any steps in the process. Here are a number of links about security: http://home.bendbroadband.com/conradsystems/accessjunkie/resources.html#Security On Tue, 29 Aug 2006 09:37:02 -0700, Dennis <Den***@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote: >I need to know if there's a way to block other MS Office applications (Word, -->Excel, etc) from being able to extract data from Access tables.
