deploying secured database shortcutHello,
I have a secured MS Access db I would like to deploy as a demo. I have tested it on a few machines and it is successful, but I have one problem: I have to modify the shortcut path for the user's machine every time I install the files. I would like to give users a CD and have them simply copy the files to their own PC. The shortcut seems to be the only problem I think. Any suggestions? I have created the .mdw file in MS Access 2000 and wish to deploy the database on MS Access version 2000 and above. thanks for any help in advance, Jake Hi Jake
Create a deployment package to install your files and create the appropriate shortcuts. I recommend Inno Setup. (http://www.jrsoftware.org/isinfo.php) It's free, easy to learn, and simply to use. -- Show quoteHide quoteGood Luck!
