Disabling Password in Access...are all using Microsoft Access 2000 from a complete Office 2000 Installation. One of the problems we have run into is that when my boss Jeff attempts to get into Access to pull up a file, his Access asks for a password, however, if I log out of his login and login in to my other boss' (Chrissa's) login (same computer), I have no problem opening any database files in Access. It only asks for a password if I am logged in to Access under Jeff's login. Well, one time I tried entering my valid login information to see if it would let me in while I was logged in under Jeff's login but it didn't. That was after I attempted to enter Jeff's login information in the box that popped up, but that didn't work either. Keep in mind this one computer is set up with multiple user accounts, which is why we have to log out of Jeff's login and use Chrissa's login in order to get into Access. We don't have this password problem with Access on any of the other computers at all. It doesn't seem to matter what Access file we open when we are using our boss' computer under Jeff's login, it still asks for a username and password. Any solutions for this problem? The default is "system.mdw" which, in XP, lives in your profile somewhere. What you describe would happen if someone has modified the one in Jeff's profile, or Jeff (or someone logged on as he) has joined a custom workgroup and assigned a password. Try renaming "system.mdw" in Jeff's profile and then have him start Access. A new one should be created if Access can't find it at startup. Failing that, use the workgroup admin tool to re-join the default "system.mdw" by default. HTH - Keith. www.keithwilby.com Keith Wilby wrote:

Where do I find that or what is the filename of the executable that I need to run in order to access the Workgroup admin tool? Thanks. Korey <ksmit***@yahoo.com> wrote in message
