I recently added security to a file but now I'm not able to gain access to
any of my files.  When the pop-up box asks for my password, it doesn't
recognize it.  How can I undo the mess I've created and get back into my
files?

Do you mean you added User Level Security to an Access database? If so, then you've probably joined a workgroup on your
machine. To check this, open Access and click Tools - Security - Workgroup Administrator. See what workgroup you're
joined to. It should be "system.mdw"

If it's not, do a File Search to locate the system.mdw file - you may find several, try the one in WINNT/System32 first
- and join it using the Workgroup Administrator.

Before implementing security, thoroughly read and understand the Access ULS FAQs. Joan Wild has a link to them on her
site:

This newsgroup is about security in Access, the database product.  You
should ask your question in a newsgroup about Windows.

If you are referring to Access, is the dialog asking for just a password or
username/password?
