** Security Issue While Linking Excel or Word to Access Database **I have recently implemented security on a networked Access database (system. mdw is in the same network location). The security at a user level seems to be working fine. However, now that the security has been implemented, I am unable to link Excel and Word documents to the database. We leverage many Excel pivot table reports that are linked to Access via the GET EXTERNAL DATA function in Excel. In Excel, why I attempt to refresh the Pivot Table for the report linked to Access, the Access login screen comes up but does not accept the username and password. It is much like attempting to open the database directly without using the Shortcut that specifies where the MDW file is. All I can suspect is that the login does not know to look for the MDW file?? Everything else with the security works great, just cannot link Excel and Word files. Any thoughts? Thanks so much, Adam

Adv/disadv of using Access built-in security tools vs build in db
Network Security multiple users, Getting rid of the warning messag corrupt files Installed updates, now macros don't work! Creating security for MS Access application log in problems workgroup information file (WIF) problem Missing User data on some macros stops conversion of Access97 to Access2003 logon security applied to all my DBs |
