Unable to merge after sharing databaseWhat did I leave out?
Added security in access 2003 and lost the abbility to merge with word 2003! Could you provide more details?
What error message are you getting? Are you merging from within Access, or from Word? What steps did you take? -- Show quoteHide quoteJoan Wild Microsoft Access MVP James wrote: > What did I leave out? > > Added security in access 2003 and lost the abbility to merge with > word 2003! to your secure workgroup file. I would also suggest you open Word, Tools, Options, General tab and ensure that 'Confirm conversion on open' is checked. Start the merge, and when you select the data source, choose your secure mdb file. In the 'Confirm Data Source' dialog choose 'via DDE' and you'll be prompted for the Access username/password to open the data source. This is the only way I've found to succeed from within Word. You could, instead, do the merge from within Access. Since you would have already signed in to the Access database, you're already authenticated for the Access security. Use Tools, Office Links, Merge it with Word and proceed from there. -- Show quoteHide quoteJoan Wild Microsoft Access MVP James wrote: > Please read the info next to your questions > > James > > "Joan Wild" wrote: > >> Could you provide more details? >> >> What error message are you getting?
