Testing Database Security2 questions 1) I have a database that has security (user/password) defined by say person A on his machine. When person A opens the database, he gets user name and password prompt. However, when I opened it, I do not get the prompt (i.e. database is not secured). How can this be? 2) I have been reading the forum on Access database security and it seems like you need to create and join a workgroup. What happens if you are developing and testing the security settings on your PC but the taget environment is on a different workgroup/domain? Do I need to copy the database and set up password from that person's pc? Thanks in advance JB Hi John.

Have you read the MS FAQ on Access security? It is essential reading if you want to gain a full understanding. There's a link to it on my web site. There's no filler in the FAQ, it's all relevant and you need to understand it all. Good luck. Keith. www.keithwilby.com
