Missing User data on some macros stops conversion of Access97 to Access2003Hi,
I'm trying to convert an Access 97 database to Access 2003 how ever I get an error message that Access 2003 can not convert some of the database due to security reasons (some of the macros are set to read only) and quits. When I look in the database in Access 97 some of the macros have a user of 'Unknown rather than 'Admin'. I can't change the user to admin and the set the macro permissions to full as user admin doesn't have the security permissions for this, which means Access 2003 can't convert the database because it can't access the macros. Any Ideas? Thanks for any help. Anthony Hi, Anthony.
> When I look in the database in Access 97 some of the macros have a user of You aren't joined to the secure workgroup information file that was used to > 'Unknown rather than 'Admin'. secure the database. Find this file and then join it for the session by using a Windows shortcut with the following syntax (watch out for word wrap, as this should be all one line): "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE\MSAccess.exe" "C:\Data\MyDB.mdb" /wrkgrp "C:\Data\Secure.mdw" When converting from an earlier version, it's best to log into the secure database as the owner of that database, remove security, close the database, then convert to the new version, then reapply the same security permissions. To make it a little easier, use Sandra Daigle's DBUtilities utility to copy the permissions from the old database to the new Access 2003 database. http://www.daiglenet.com/MSAccess.htm HTH.
