I have been following Joan's step by step security but when I tell the wizard
I want to creat a shortcut to my security enhanced database it gives me a
error message "type mismatch". Thie is even when I use the file name
suggested by the wizard. . I get the same message if I try to do this through
the Workgropu administrator. How can I fix this? Thanks in advance

What version of Access?

You can create a desktop shortcut manually...

Start, search... msaccess.exe

Right-click on the file once found, and choose Send To, Desktop as Shortcut.

Now right-click this shortcut; you'll see the 'target' line with the path to
msaccess.exe.

Edit that line - at the end of the path to msaccess.exe add
"Path to mdb" /wrkgrp "path to secure mdw"
